BOOMERANG

He keenly desired to marry her,
But she glanced at his intent from afar,
She thought him too little to be at par,
A man who didn't even own a car.

His heart bled from her insult,
They were like wounds sharpened by salt,
That he loved her wasn't his fault,
But her heart had been kept in a vault.

At the end of it all,
Her  hope in someone else suffered a fall,
She then wished she'd paid heed to his call,
Her life suddenly became an empty hall.

She's 58 yet no proposal,
Cause when it came she threw it in the waste disposal,
Her chant is a had I known reprisal,
Cause with her destiny's date she was carelessly casual.

There are a lot of things we wish to change,
Settings we'd gladly re-arrange,
We must be cautious on our life's stage,
So our roles don't cause a regret prone damage.
