“FLOW, CONTROL, AND THE ART OF BECOMING”
A reflective piece inspired by a mother-daughter moment...
The hardest work we’ll ever do is not changing the world; it’s changing ourselves.
This is why most people just want to be free... to flow…to go with whatever current pulls at them.
However, not every flow leads to peace.
Not every wind knows where it’s going.
Some flows land you in places you never planned, places that drain instead of fill.
Self-control feels like a war at first.
A tug-of-war between who we are
and who we’re becoming.
It’s hard because it’s honest,
Because it demands we slow down,
face our truths and choose a better way, even when it hurts.
But here’s the thing,
the more you practice control,
the more it becomes a rhythm,
a quiet kind of power.
Not rigid, but rooted.
Not stiff, but strong.
And as you grow, you’ll notice this too:
Not every friend will grow with you.
Some will try to shake your roots,
make you question your direction.
You don’t have to hate them.
You don’t have to fight them.
Just love them… from a distance.
Protect your peace because peace
lets you see...
In clarity, you find your next step.
In stillness, you hear your own voice again.
And that voice matters.
That voice is leading you home.
I say this as I lie here,
watching life swirl around us,
wondering how many of us are full yet empty,
awake yet unaware.
You’ve eaten, I haven’t.
But today, I’ve been fed.
By truth.
By love.
By this moment.
